ASHLAND Norris W. Snyder, 69, of Ashland, died Friday at Good Shepherd Home in Ashland, after an illness of three years.
He was born Oct. 6, 1937 in Wakeman to the late, Norman H. and Alta A. (Albright) Snyder, Sr. He grew up in New London, where he lived until moving to Ashland in 1978.
He was a graduate of New London High School and attended the Mt. Vernon Academy. He served in the Army from 1962 to 1964. He had worked for the former McMillin & Ward of New London as an artist for many years. He worked for U-Brand in Ashland for 21 years, where he was a member of the 20 year club. He also worked for Kmart in Ashland for 22 years. He retired in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Poynter) Snyder, whom he married Aug. 3, 1968; a son, Lee Snyder of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Teri Predovic of McMinnville, Tenn.; stepsons, Dennis Rook of West Salem and Daniel Rook of Ashland; eight stepgrandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman H. (Bonnie) Snyder, Jr.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cynthia Rook Tenley; and a stepgranddaughter, Barbara L. Ringler.
