NEW HAVEN - Mary E. Day, 82, of New Haven, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital of Willard.

She was born Oct. 19, 1924 in New Haven to the late Roland and Sophia (Kuhn) Cline.

She was married Sept. 13, 1947 to William E. Day who preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1975.

She was a graduate of New Haven School, Class of 1942. She was employed first at the Shelby Air Depot, then the Mercy hospital of Willard as an LPN. Later in life she worked at the New Haven Post Office. She was a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church, Plymouth Eastern Star (now part of the Shelby Chapter) and the Plymouth American Legion. She was an avid reader.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise L. and Ron Piatt of Huber Heights; and two step granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Grace Ruth and Kathryn Shannon; and brothers, Paul and James Cline.

Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard. The Rev. Lynda K. Masters will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.

NORWALK Ralph C. Jackson, 90, of Norwalk, died Thursday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born June 4, 1917.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk.

NORWALK Thomas H. Beese, Sr., 71, of Norwalk, died Thursday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born June 29, 1936 in Sandusky.

In his early years, he was a driver for Singler Bus & Cab Company in Sandusky. He then became a custodian at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He retired in the early 1990's as a custodian and driver for S.S. Industries Erie County Board of MRDD. He was a member of the New London Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and raising livestock.

He is survived by his wife, Marian L. Beese of Norwalk; a son, Tom Beese, Jr. of Norwalk; sisters and brother-in-law, Lucille and Kenneth Lippert of Sandusky and Linda Beese of Collins; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amelia (Hartlaub) Martens and Harry Beese; sisters, Selma Meyers and Mae Nutzki; and brothers, Leon Beese, William Schoewe and Gabriel Martens.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. The Rev. Charles Mead of New London Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in the Milan Cemetery.
