LAKELAND, Fla. — Mary A. Surrarrer, 105, of Lakeland, and formerly of Litchfield, Ohio, died Thursday in Lakeland.

She was born Sept. 19, 1901 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late William and Gertrude Curtis Suhr.

She grew up and attended school there and in October 1923 she married George M. Surrarrer. They resided in Litchfield before moving to Florida in 1978.

She had worked for GTE in Medina, retiring in 1969. She was a former member of the Chatham United Methodist Church and current member of the Gibson United Methodist Church in Lakeland.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Leona and Chester Hiltbrunner of Lakeland and Mary and Frank Booth of Litchfield; sons and a daughter-in-law, Morris and Yvonne Surrarrer of Lodi, Ohio and William Surrarrer of Grafton, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1981; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Richard Beard; three grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dr. Richard Eifert will officiate. Burial will follow in Mallet Creek Cemetery, York Township, Ohio.
