WAKEMAN — Lila Rose (Kelley) Garner, 81, of Wakeman, died Tuesday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
She was born June 2, 1926 in Clarksfield, Ohio, daughter of the late, Linn and Lillian (Perkins) Kelley. She was a lifelong resident of the Clarksfield area and graduated in 1944 from New London High School.
Lila was a lifelong devoted member of the Clarksfield United Methodist Church and she joined the former Wakeman Halcyon Chapter of the Eastern Star in 1945 where she was Worthy Matron in 1958 and 1988. She was a member of the Althea Chapter No. 438. She also was a member of the Grange. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and especially taking the grandchildren places.
She is survived by daughters, Coleen (Paul) Meister of Marion, Ohio and Carolyn (Mark) Winkler of Norwalk; a son, Collin (Carol) Garner of Norwalk; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ray Garner in 1992, whom she married April 21, 1946; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence Kelley.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with Eastern Star services at 7:30. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Adrian Doll officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
