SANDUSKY — Laura K. (Knupke) Boytim, 87, of Sandusky, died early Wednesday morning at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 12, 1919, in Sandusky. She retired from New Departure-Hyatt after 25 years of employment as an inspector.
She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead and St. Mary Catholic Church, Sandusky. Devoted to her family, she especially loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed ceramics, jigsaw puzzles, painting, sewing, canning and taking care of her houseplants.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Zoll of Auburn, Calif.; a son, Dennis (Tatyana) Boytim of Huron; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Boytim; parents, Herman and Mary (Hagar) Knupke; sisters, Marie Benziger, Minnie Cross, Leona Timassy and Nettie Shirk; and brothers, Art and Herman Knupke.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 506 E. Main St., Marblehead, where a service will take place at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Basil Hutsko officiating. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.
Additional visitation took place Friday evening at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where a Parastas service was held at 5 p.m.
