GREENWICH Kinsel Hettinger, 91, of Greenwich, died Sunday at Willard Healthcare Center after a brief illness.

He was born July 8, 1915 in Mansfield, son of the late Kinsel and Mary Ann (Hartsorn) Hettinger.

He had served in the Army during World War II. He had lived in Greenwich for many years. He had worked for 27 years at Mansfield Tire.

He is survived by his wife, Viola (Luteman) Hettinger, whom he married April 2, 1940; a daughter, Kay Frances Eatherton of Fostoria; a son, Kinsel Dewayne Hettinger of Wickenburg, Ariz.; two grandsons and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mereda Viola Hettinger.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial with military rites will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
