BELLEVUE - June A. Gerber, 83, of Bellevue and formerly of Willard, died Tuesday morning at the Bellevue Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1924 in Bellevue, daughter of the late John and Hazel (Quick) Kern. She married Charles R. Gerber Sr. on Jan. 30, 1944 in Tiffin, and he died Oct. 20, 2002.
She was a 1942 graduate of Bellevue High School and a 1943 graduate of Sandusky Business College. She had worked several jobs in her younger years. Later in life, she worked with her husband at Gerber’s Welding Shop in Republic and in the office at Holiday LakesLodge in Willard from 1965 until 1982, then spent the winters in Florida for the next 20 years.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Tiffin and a 65-year member of the Wade Benfer American Legion Post 404 Ladies Auxiliary in Republic.
Survivors include daughters, Carol (Robert) Falter of Republic and Sharon (Kenneth) Carbary of Bellevue; sons, Roger J. Gerber of Columbus, Robert C. (Sandra) Gerber of Willard, Charles R. (Barbara) Gerber Jr. of Willard and Keith E. Gerber of Bellevue; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Daisy Wehr of Westerville.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Gerber; a brother, Kenneth Kern; and sisters, Leona Martin and Ruth Stewart.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. Ohio 19, Bloomville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Donna Van Trees officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Tiffin.
