BELLEVUE John W. Young, 77, of Bellevue, died Friday at Bellevue Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1930 in Valleyfork, W.Va., son of the late John W. Young and Nettie J. Cruickshanks.
In 1965, he married Elizabeth A. (Triplett) Young in Wallback, W.Va.
He was employed at Olson MFG in Elyria and then at the former Magic Chef and Johnson Furnace in Bellevue. He was a TV repairman for many years and a self-employed truck driver, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles and C.B. Radio.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James W. and Lisa M. Young of Republic, John Andrew and Lucy Young of North Carolina; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Michael Nutter of Norwalk and Donald and Angela Nutter of Florida; daughters, Margaret Young of Fremont and Johnna Young of Norwalk; and 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Young; and five brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Foos & Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, where services will take place at 3 p.m. Monday with the Revs. Abby Auman of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and David Vensel of Cortland United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery in York Township.
