NORWALK - Jacqueline Z. White, 75 of Norwalk, died Monday in the Cleveland Clinic after a six-month battle with heart and lung disease.
She was born Feb. 11,1932 in Monroe County, Mich. daugther of the late Beverly and Thelma (Green) Jacobs and lived in the Wakeman and Norwalk area her entire life.
She was a 1950 graduate of New London High School. She attended Bowling Green State University before leaving to take care of her sister. She was on student council, a cheerleader and homecoming attendent during her high school years.
She married her high school sweetheart David P. White Sr. on Sept. 12, 1951 in Angola, Ind. She worked in the pharmacy at Super X, Revco and CVS for over 20 years. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, antiquing, dining out and spending time with her family. She was a avid animal lover.
In addition to her husband of almost 56 years, she is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, David P. White Jr. and Deb of Wakeman, and Douglas A. White; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly A. and David Harvey of Norwalk; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and a great-grandchild; brothers, Wallace Jacobs and Harold Jacobs; a sister, Gloria Wooldridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly B. and Thelma (Green) Jacobs; and sisters, Marian Millis and Colleen Hendricks.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
