NORWALK - John D. Moyer, 68, of Norwalk, died Tuesday evening at Fisher Titus Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Marion to the late Paul D. and Mary Ellen (Slusser) Moyer and had lived in Norwalk for 36 years. He was a 1956 graduate of Prospect High School and attended The Ohio State University, majoring in Agricultural Education. He was employed by Master Mix Feeds Division of Central Soya as a division manager. He was also the manager of Shinrock Elevator and Supply and retired in 2003 as sales manager at Door Chevrolet. He was a past president of the Milan Rotary Club and a member of Huron Yacht Club, serving as Commodore in 1991, Norwalk First United Methodist Church, Society of Sales executives, Eagles Aerie No. 711, Roby Lodge No. 534 and Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Toledo. He enjoyed boating, photography, sports and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jo (Knickel) Moyer; sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Debra Moyer and Michael and Laurie Moyer, all of Norwalk; six grandchildren; and by his brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas P. and Audrey Moyer, of Lexington, Ohio, and Robert E. and Sue Moyer, of Houston, Texas.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from noon until 1 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, where a service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Lou Diehl, of the Hudson United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
