GREENWICH - Ivan F. Beaty, 88, of Greenwich, died Monday in the Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland.
He was born June 4, 1919 in Marion, son of the late Chester and Florence (Vance) Beaty. He had lived in Mansfield and moved to a farm in Adario, where he later graduated from Adario High School.
He worked as a farmer and an autobody repairman, having owned his own body shop for many years.
In his retirement years he worked with his son in the wood working business.
He served as a Butler Township trustee for many years as well. He was a member of the Adario Methodist Church and a Past Master of the Shiloh Masonic Lodge 544 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gertrude (Echelbarger) Beaty; daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Alan Gano of Plymouth, and Jackie Dunn of Plymouth; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jackie Beaty of Greenwich; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn Beaty.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Adario Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Gaston and Bob Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in Adario Cemetery.
