WAKEMAN - Irene E. Theisen, 86, of Wakeman, died early Saturday morning in her daughter's home in Clarksfield.

She was born Jan. 22, 1921 in Peru Township, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mae (Coyne) Fisher and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1938 graduate of Monroeville High School.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Norwalk, Daughters of Isabella at St. Paul Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society, and the TOPS Club. She was a volunteer for the Huron County Services for the Aging, a poll worker for the Huron County Board of Elections and a Pink Lady at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.

She was a seamstress for Towne & Country Players and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and visiting her sisters on Tuesday nights.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Karen Theisen of Columbus, and James and Alice Theisen of Graytown; daughters and sons-in-law, Sister Rosellyn Theisen, SND of Toledo, Donna and Richard Bowers of New London, Marilyn and Larry Houghtlen of Norwalk and Peggy and Clarence Thomas of Clarksfield; 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Heyman of Willoughby, Loretta Whitacre of Norwalk, Charlotte Skinn of Norwalk and Peg Coe of Crestline; and sister-in-law, Eileen Schaffer of Norwalk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Theisen in 1982; infant brother, Lawrence Fisher; a great grandson; sister, Elizabeth Miller; brother, John Fisher; and longtime friend, David Moore.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, where wake services will be held at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 W. League St., Norwalk with the Rev. Frank Speier officiating. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Settlement Road, Peru.
