NORWALK - Harold A. Meyer, 86 of Norwalk, died Sunday evening at Fisher Titus Medical Center.
He was born June 17, 1921 in Bellevue, son of the late Emil and Katheryn (Weigand) Meyer and lived in Norwalk for 65 years.
He worked for the 7-UP company for 35 years as a driver/salesman.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for 64 years. He was also a member of Eagles Aerie 711 and a social member of the Norwalk American Legion Post 41.
He enjoyed wine making, dancing, and loved to garden. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary J. (McPherson) Meyer of Norwalk; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Sue Meyer of Mason, Mich., and Daryl and Jenifer Meyer of Huron; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Randy Eschen of Norwalk; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; a brother and sister-in-law, Emil and Marijene Meyer of Bellevue; and a sister, Isabel Koch of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Albert, Clarence and Carl Meyer; and by his sisters, Elizabeth Martin, Irene Johnson, Florence Kahler and Josephine Waddington.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home 98 West Main St. Norwalk, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Wiechers officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
