Gerald J. "Jerry" Fahning, 74, of Milan, died Wednesday at Gaymont Nursing Home following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 21, 1933 in Buffalo, N.Y. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1992 after 32 years of service and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Milan. He enjoyed horses and was a blacksmith. He enjoyed bowling, football and playing cards.
Survivors include twin daughters: Michelle (Frank) Kromer and Kelly (Sean) Schaffer, both of Norwalk, son: Timothy (Sharon) Fahning, of Milan, four grandchildren: and a brother: Bill Fahning, Buffalo, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Orville and Edna (Chadwick) Fahning, and his wife: Violet (Doleski) Fahning.
Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Groff Funeral Home, One S. Main St., Milan where prayers will be recited at 9:30 followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Milan. The Rev. Frank Speier will officiate.
