SHILOH - Elva Dyer, 88, of Shiloh, died Friday at her home. She was born May 14, 1919 in Elliott County, Ky. to the late James M. and Nolla L. (Barker) Horton.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness House of Fellowship in Celeryville.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kermit Dyer, whom she wed Dec. 21, 1940; children, Charlotte and Lyndol Greene of Franklin, Tenn., Joan and Russell Estes of Shiloh, Thomas K. Dyer of Kalispell, Mont., and Myra and Charles Cordrey of Louisville, Ill.; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucy Butler of Pendleton, Ind.; a brother, James M. Horton Jr. of Morehead, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Nolla L. (Barker) Horton; an infant son, Gary W. Dyer; and five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, where services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ralph Barlow officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
