Elizabeth Ann (Dorr) Clausen

PURCELLVILLE, Va. - Elizabeth Ann (Dorr) Clausen, 76, of Purcellville, died suddenly Thursday.

She was born Aug. 7, 1931, the daughter of Russell and Leola Dorr. She graduated from Milan High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She was an accountant for more than 20 years at the Faulhaber Company in Monroeville, Ohio.

An avid historian, she also worked for a period at the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio, and volunteered and served on various boards for the Milan Historical Society. She volunteered for several years in and around the Milan area, notably with the Humane Society of Erie County and the Erie County Prosecutor's Office. She, with her husband Peter, spent many years sailing on their boat "October" and was a longtime member of the Huron Yacht Club. She was a member of the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim Matthews (Craig) of Aiken, S.C., Kathy Weitzel (Robert) of Cornelius, N.C., Karen Gallagher of Purcellville, and Kristen Lake (David) of Grafton, Ohio; a sister, Jeanette Smith of Elyria; and five grandchildren.

Her husband and parents preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Groff Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Milan, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Larry Nocella of Camden Baptist Church, Grafton, Ohio, officiating. Interment will be next to her husband Peter in the Dorr family plot in Milan Cemetery.
