NORWALK - Dwayne L. Burson, 69, of Norwalk, died Monday morning at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born May 29, 1938 in Findlay and was a 1956 graduate of Findlay High School.

He served in the Ohio National Guard from 1960 until 1964. He was co-owner and operator of B&R Carpet Care in Norwalk from 1973 until 1996. After retirement, he worked as a maintenance worker at Geo Trac. He attended the Sandusky Community Church of Nazarene in Sandusky, was a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711 and Car Coddler, and was an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed boating, camping and played drums for 20 years in his band, the High Country Band.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary J. (Willis) Burson of Norwalk; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Kent Sizemore of Findlay, Becky and Craig Cochran of Findlay and Darla and Bruce Swiger of Canton, Mich.; a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Marie Burson of Norwalk; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; mother, Eilene (Haner) Burson of Arizona; a half-brother, George Sahadi of Arizona; and a sister, Joanne Toidmier of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley E. Burson in 2002.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Aaron Thacker will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
