NORWALK - Dorothy L. Ruffing, 81, of Norwalk, died Thursday evening at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born July 9, 1926 in Calhoun County, Ala., daughter of the late Hope and Anna Lee (Gamble) Mobley, and moved to this area in 1946 from Blue Mt., Ala.
She was a member of Norwalk First Baptist Church and the retirees group of Kelsey/Hayes Foundry of Fremont. She was a former member of the Fremont Moose Auxiliary.
She enjoyed raising birds and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Ruffing of Norwalk; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward A. and Sandy Ruffing of Norwalk, Richard L. and Denise Ruffing of Norwalk, and Thomas D. and Melissa Ruffing of Antwerp; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Duke Clonch of Vickery, and Tammy and David Rang of Kannapolis, N.C.; four stepsons and one stepdaughter from Vickery; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Mobley of Huntsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Paul Lamb officiating.
