NORWALK - Clarence P. "JR" Kochensparger, 64, of Norwalk, died early Sunday morning at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness.
He was born March 27, 1943 in Sandusky and had attended Holy Angels Grade School and Sandusky High School.
He retired in 1997 from the Ford Motor Company where he had worked for 32 years. He was a member of the Norwalk Eagles Aerie No. 711 and the American Legion Post No. 83 of Sandusky. He loved to dance and attend Car Shows, Swap Meets and restore classic cars.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (Ward) Kochensparger, whom he married March 7, 1997; a daughter, Deborah L. Kochensparger of Sandusky; step-sons, Douglas Miller of Norton, Shawn (Dawn) Miller of Englewood, Steve (Crystal) Miller of Napoleon; nine step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Vivian Kochensparger of Sandusky; sisters, Mary L. Fultz of Castalia, Doris A. Bretz of Monroeville, Shirley (Ray) Thom of Castalia, Olivia Schwiefert of Sandusky, Ruth (David) Witter of Huron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Elliot and Olivia Martha (Miller) Kochensparger; a brother, John E. Kochensparger; and a brother in infancy, Clarence W. Kochensparger.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. following visitation. At his request, cremation will be held. Burial will be held later in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky.
