WAKEMAN Clarence Hines, 86, of Wakeman, died Monday evening at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.

He was born May 9, 1920 in Medina County's Chatham Township, and had lived in the Wakeman area for more than 60 years and also was a farmer. He was retired from Western Automatic in Elyria. He was a member of Kipton Community Church. He was also a member of the Wakeman Grange.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth (Hales); a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bruce Guinta of Arkansas; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Beverly Hines of Wakeman; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Wrench of Wellington; and a brother, Lee of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Annie (Maurer) Hines; a son, Ralph; sisters, Amy and Doris; and brothers, Wayne and Harry.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Friday at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. The Rev. Lee Stull of the Kipton Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery near Kipton.
