DOROTHY, W.Va. - Charles Roger Hill, 75, of Dorothy, died Sunday at the CAMC General Division, Charleston, W.Va.

He was born July 31, 1932 to the late Henry D. Hill and Myrtle A. Short Hill.

He worked for Janesville Cotton Mill in Norwalk for 23 years and for Beckley Coal Co., Glen Daniels, W.Va. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local 1895 Dist. 29 until the strike was over and they closed the company.

He married Roberta Starr on July 20, 1963 and enjoyed 44 years of a happy marriage. He is also survived by daughters, Beverly Jean Jaqua and husband Doug of Collins, Ohio, Pamela Day and husband Ronald, of Collins, Tina Willman and husband David of Dorothy, Shelly Willman and husband Dana of Dorothy, Ranee Walker and husband Steve of Prince, W.Va.; a son, Carl R. Hill and wife, Margaret of Dorothy; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Davis, Ruby Harris, Elnor Hill, Daisy Hill and brothers, Louis "Ed" Hill, Edward Hill and Vernor Hill.

Calling hours took place Thursday at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, W.Va. and an hour before the 2 p.m. service today at the Assembly of God, Dorothy. The Rev. Jerry Pauley officiated. Burial followed in Henry Hill Cemetery, Dorothy.
