BERLIN HEIGHTS - Charles E. Morgan, 72, of Berlin Heights, died Tuesday evening at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Emmett, W.Va., and had lived in the area for 47 years.
He was a member of the Marines and served in Korea as a corporal. He worked at the Lorain Ford Plant for 33 years and was a member of Local No. 425 and its C.A.P. Council, served on the Executive Board of the Local No. 425 and also as vice-president for three years. He was active in the Berlin Heights Little League. He was a member of the Wayside Temple in Castalia.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis (Vance); a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Rebecca Morgan of Elmore; a sister, Shelba (Irson) Robinette of Huron; brothers Calvin of Kentucky, Marshall (Joanne) Morgan of Huron; and a grandson and his spouse, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Martha (Walls) Morgan; a daughter, Rhonda Sue Morgan; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Nicole Morgan; sisters, Helen Browning and Evelyn Fowler; and brothers, Robert, Freeman and Paul Morgan.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia. The Rev. Rusty Yost will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
