MONROEVILLE — Barbara B. Landon, 74, of Monroeville, died Sunday morning in the University of Utah Hospital from injuries she received from a three-vehicle accident on I-215 in Utah.

She was born June 17, 1933 in Paulding, Ohio and was a graduate of Paulding High School. She was a 1955 graduate of Earlham College, Richmond, Ind., and she received her masters degree in library science in 1956 from the Indiana University. She was the librarian at the Monroeville Elementary School, and prior to this at the Lima Public Library. She was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, where she had served on the church council as treasurer, the Sally Deforest DAR, where she had served as treasurer, and regient, Monroeville Library Friends, where she was vice president, the School Employee Federal Credit Union, where she had served on the board of directors as secretary, Monroeville Village Council, Firelands Historical Society, and the Goldwing Riders, Chapter K2, where she was a chapter director.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George A. Landon, one brother: Richard Barrett of LaGrange, Ind., one niece: Linda (Rob) Owen of Edwardsburg, MI., two nephews: Rick Barrett and James (Jodi) Barrett both of Lafayette, Ind., great nieces and great nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Louise (Curtis) Barrett.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate.

On Tuesday, the body will be taken to Prospect United Methodist Church, where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11. The Revs. David Hoffman and Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel St., Monroeville, Ohio or to the Monroeville Public Library, 34 Monroe St., Monroeville, Ohio 44847.
