SHILOH Arnold C. "George" Haymond, 74, of Shiloh, died Sunday at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1933 in Buckhannon, W.Va. to the late Henry and Icie (Waugh) Haymond and had been a Shiloh resident for 37 years.
He was a painting contractor and a veteran of the Army serving during peacetime. He attended the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vanda (Beverly) Haymond; sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony and Ronnie Haymond, both of Shiloh, and Jamie and Karen Brown of Shelby; daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Chuck Tuttle of Columbus, Sandy and Joe Gibson of Willard, and Debbie, Tina, Sherry and Lynny; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Buck Haymond of Bellville; and a sister, Eloise Taylor of Galion.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Shepherd; and sisters, Armalean Ginns and Gearldine Morris.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church on Henry Road in Plymouth, where services will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday with elders Joe Gibson, Phillip Beverly, Hargis Tuttle and Lon Beverly officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
