NORWALK - Arkadi A. Moor, 83, of Norwalk, died Sunday at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk.
He was born Dec. 14, 1923 in Estonia and moved to the United States in 1951, where he lived in the Norwalk area since.
He was a member of the Cleveland Estonian Lutheran Church and attended St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk. He worked at the former Youngstown Miller Company in Norwalk, retiring in 1980. He worked at PolyOne and was also a security guard for National City Bank. He enjoyed baby-sitting his grandchildren, singing and music, put-put- golf, watching the Cleveland Browns and wrestling.
He is survived by his children, Annie "Ene" Moor of Norwalk, Chris (Larry) Wyant of Wakeman and Martin (Linda) Moor of Avon Lake; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Estonia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Salme K. Moor in 1996.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, and also from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Wiechers, pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery followed by a luncheon at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
