FREMONT - Anna "Else" Doughty, 87, of Fremont, died Monday morning at the Volunteers of America-Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, after a brief illness.
She was born June 18, 1920 in Germany.
She was a milliner "hat maker" in Heidelberg, Germany for many years. She was married in 1954 and moved to Norwalk where she lived with her family until moving to Twinsburg in 1963. After retirement, she moved to Fremont in 1991. She enjoyed Bingo, knitting, crocheting, crafts and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Walter I. Doughty of Fremont; a daughter and son-in-law, Erika and James Gensman of Port Clinton; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Waldtraud and Anna, both of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Berta Loeffler; and siblings.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. The Rev. Frank Kehres, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron.
