ARCHBOLD, Ga. Ruth Anna Ruffer, 85, of Archbold, died unexpectedly Friday morning at the Archbold Hospital.
Ruffer was born in Muscatine, Iowa on July 31, 1921, the daughter of the late William H. and Myrtle (Haine) Eiler. On June 6, 1942 she married Vern L. Ruffer. She was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold, where she had been a Sunday school teacher for 25 years and had also served with the Women's Guild for 32 years. She was a Fulton County 4-H advisor for 25 years and also served with the German Township Election Board for 38 years.
She is survived by her husband, Vern; four sons and daughters-in-law Dannie and Dorothy Ruffer of Norwalk, Myron and Yvonne Ruffer of Lakeview, Mich., James and Maria Ruffer of Glendale, Ariz., and Edward and Julie Ruffer of Archbold; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Christian Church in Archbold, with the Rev. Erich Christman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Archbold Cemetery.
