MONROEVILLE Marilyn G. Herner, 70, of Monroeville, died Thursday morning in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 8, 1936 in Castalia and was a 1954 graduate of Monroeville High School.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroeville, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Women of the Church. She was also a member and past Worthy Matron of the Althea Chapter No. 438, O.E.S., Monroeville.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim Herner; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Herner, Arthur and Rosa Herner, Paul and Barb Herner and David and Shannon Herner, all of Monroeville; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Milkie of Green Bay, Wis.; and a sister, Sue Fairchild of Sandusky; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary (Parcher) Milkie.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where Althea Chapter No. 438, O.E.S. will hold memorial services at 8 p.m. tonight. On Saturday, the body will be taken to Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 Broad Street, Monroeville to lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Amy C. Little will officiate.
