MILAN Laurids "Larry" J. Sax, 73, of Milan, died Friday morning at his home following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 25, 1933 in Bolling, Denmark to the late Peter J. and Marie K. (Mortensen) Sax. In 1948, Larry and his parents came to the United States and settled in Milan.

He worked with his parents at Solvang Farms, Milan, until he enlisted in the Army in 1954 and served his country for two years in California. He then returned to Milan and met the woman of his dreams, Treva I. Jenkins, and they were married Nov. 2, 1957. Together they raised three children, Kenneth, Tina, and Leslie.

He attended Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, Milan. He was a pressman for Tenneco Automotive, Milan and retired in 1996 after almost 40 years of service. He was also owner/operator of a mail order company, Sax Master Systems, for almost 40 years.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Roberta) Sax of Milan, Tina (Larry) Campbell of Norwalk, and Leslie (Eric) Behrendsen of Sandusky; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren; a sister, Eda Hipp of Norwalk, and two nieces and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Treva I. (Jenkins) Sax.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Groff Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Milan, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 43099 N. Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035 in honor of Larry's wife Treva.
