Three drug defendants made their first appearances Monday in Huron County Common Pleas Court. Each of the suspects entered "not guilty" pleas to their respective charges.
Donald L. Carr III, 25, of 479 Lakeshore Drive, Willard, goes to trial Dec. 9 on possession of heroin in connection with a May 12 incident. He told Judge Jim Conway he has a prior felony conviction and is under intensive probation through Norwalk Municipal Court.
Seth R. Flew, 34, of 124 S. Linwood Ave., has a trial date of Dec. 2 on two counts of trafficking in marijuana in connection with incidents on Jan. 3 and 4, 2012. According to court records, authorities issued a summons Aug. 11 of this year.
Jeremy Lewis, 39, of 68 N. Prospect St., goes to trial Dec. 4 on one third-degree felony and two first-degree misdemeanors. He is charged with one count of having weapons under disability and two charges of aggravated menacing and assault, all in connection with a July 7 incident.
Lewis and another defendant, George D. Hawkins, 38, of Sandusky, said they have prior felony convictions, but they aren't on probation. If convicted, that means each defendant is eligible for prison terms.
"We issued a summons (on Lewis). I believe he is in jail in another county," Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff said.
Lewis wasn't sure of his release date, but said his unspecified hearing was scheduled for the same time as his Huron County arraignment.
Hawkins is charged with possession of cocaine in connection with a May 17 incident. His trial date is Nov. 20.
Each of the defendants appeared on a summons. Carr, Flew and Hawkins are subject to random drug screens.
