A Mt. Vernon man was pronounced dead at a hospital following an accident Tuesday on Ohio 13, south of Bellville.

The accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Troopers with the Mansfield post of the State highway patrol responded to a report of a multi-vehicle rollover crash near Ross Road. A southbound mini-van driven by Nicholas A. Frankart, 29, of Mt. Vernon, reportedly traveled left of center and struck a northbound Chrysler Sebring driven by Teresa L. Farnham, 60, of Mt. Vernon and then struck another northbound Ford F-150 driven by Christopher W. Flack, 31, of Bellville.

Frankart was taken to Knox Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, troopers said.

Farnham was taken to Mansfield and later to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Flack was taken to Knox Community Hospital with minor injuries.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered factors in the crash, troopers said.

The case is under investigation.

This is the seventh fatal crash in Richland County this year.
