Troopers from the Ashland post of the Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that killed two women -- including one from Bellevue -- Tuesday at U.S. 42 and Ohio 302, according to information in the Mansfield News Journal.

Srilatha Thadur, 37, of Ypsilanti, Mich., was driving east on Ohio 302 in a 2010 Mercedes C300 at 7:42 p.m. when she ran a stop sign for eastbound traffic on Ohio 302 and hit a 2003 Chrysler Town and County minivan driven by Josh Moor, according to the patrol. Moor was traveling south on U.S. 42 and had three passengers in the vehicle.

Both vehicles ran off the east side of the road and into a yard. Passengers in Moor's vehicle, Loretta Meacham, 77, of Bellevue, and Autumn Meacham, 25, of West Salem, were killed, according to the patrol.

Moor and a juvenile passenger were transported to Ashland Samaritan Hospital for their injuries. Thadur was transported to Ashland Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

Thadur was wearing her seatbelt. Moor, Loretta Meacham and Autumn Meacham were not; the juvenile was in a booster seat, according to the patrol.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
