In just her second time competing with her pony, Snickers, at the state fair -- and her second year riding him -- Western Reserve seventh-grader Rachel Herbkersman placed in a horseriding event at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus.

The 12-year-old competed against youth ages 9 to 18.

It's not a feat the Roughriders 4-H club member was expecting to achieve.

At the Huron County Fair next week, she will vie for the horse princess title.
