He’s a winner! Ruggles rebounds to rule the roost

About 10 days after health care providers placed 12-year-old Nevan Ruggles under intensive care, he awoke from a sedation sate.

When he awoke, he asked his father how his chickens were doing. They were obviously in top-notch shape -- and he is expected to be as well, said the youngster's father, Marc.

It's been less than two months since the Monroeville seventh-grader fell roughly 15 to 20 feet from a grain bin on June 12. He suffered a broken femur, a broken arm and broken eye socket bones after he hit his head on a concrete foundation. He didn't suffer a concussion or any brain damage and was conscious after the accident.

He's now not only out of the hospital, but the youngster was named outstanding market exhibitor for chickens Sunday at the Ohio State Fair.
