A North Fairfield man was arrested in connection with a burglary Tuesday morning shortly after the incident.

Former Willard resident Justin M. Hicks, 19, was arrested soon after the Willard Police Department responded to the suspected crime on Keefer Street. Police were notified about 8:40 a.m.

Hicks attempted to enter the residence through a side window, Norwalk Assistant Law Director Scott Christophel said during Tuesday's bond hearing.

"He had some property on his person which officers are investigating whether it's stolen or not," he said, referring to some jewelry.

Hicks is charged with burglary, a third-degree felony, which is punishable by nine months to three years in prison. If he posts a $15,000 bond, he is prohibited from being on the victim's premises.
