A 2-year-old boy died from injuries he suffered when he was struck by a pizza-delivery car in the parking lot of a North Side apartment complex yesterday in Columbus.
The boy was pronounced dead at 8:05 p.m. at Nationwide Children’s Hospital after being transferred from Mount Carmel St. Ann’s in Westerville. He was identified last night as Logan Gonzales-Romero.
Columbus police were called at 6:19 p.m. to the 2200 block of Parkville Court in Trinity Square Apartments off Rt. 161.
The boy apparently had run out in front of the pizza-delivery car — perhaps, police said, because he was running toward an ice-cream truck that also was in the area.
The driver, James Bolognone, 39, stopped after the crash. The boy’s mother took the child to Mount Carmel St. Ann’s. The investigation continues.
