A Norwalk man arrested Friday on an Athens County warrant was released from jail on a personal recognizance bond Monday.

That means Alaric Newcomer, 20, of 2711 Arrowhead Lane, signed a court document promising he would appear for future hearings without having to post a monetary bond.

Newcomer was arrested locally Friday by troopers from the state Highway Patrol on the charge of burglary, a second-degree felony.

On Monday, Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway ruled Newcomer would remain on house arrest until he's turned over to Athens County authorities. He's not allowed to leave his parents' home other than for court appointments. This Friday, he must report to Athens County Common Pleas Court or Huron County Common Pleas Court, Conway said.
