A New London driver received his third DUI charge Sunday in connection with a stop on Fayette Road.

At 6:58 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Thomas Halko stopped David L. Goodell, 74, of 1589 Fitchville River Road, New London, in connection with a marked lanes violation, for which he was charged.

Goodell also was charged with not wearing a safety belt and driving under the influence. His blood-alcohol content registered at .143 percent, according to the patrol. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08. Troopers said Goodell has two prior DUIs, in 1985 and 1989.
