An out-of-state driver and his passenger face drug-related charges in connection with a local traffic stop.

Alphonzo D. McGaughy, 50, of Middle River, Md., was stopped at 2:15 p.m. last Tuesday on Ohio 13 in Greenwich. Trooper Chris Beyer, the district K-9 officer for the state Highway Patrol, made the stop about a cracked windshield while Trooper John Weasner, of the Norwalk post, handled the incident itself.

The trooper, according to his report, saw 28 acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills in plain sight when McGaughy retrieved his registration from the glove compartment.

McGaughy was charged with possession of drugs and driving with a suspended license.

His passenger, Taquana D. Judd, 31, of Oak Park, Mich., was charged with possession of marijuana in connection with possessing the suspected drugs.
