State troopers recently stopped two suspected drunken drivers, one of whom had a breath test almost three times the legal limit. A trooper found a loaded gun during a different traffic stop.

Kathy J. Roby, 56, of 1861 Snyder Road, Willard, was stopped for failing to use her turn signal at the intersection of Main and Newton streets in Norwalk. Trooper Sarah Frey, of the state Highway Patrol's Norwalk post, made the stop at 9:28 p.m. Sunday.

Roby's blood alcohol content level on a breath test was .222, according to the trooper's report. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08. Roby was charged with driving under the influence and failure to signal.

She has a prior DUI conviction from 1987, according to the patrol.

When Trooper Robert Brown stopped Lora A. Proctor, 39, of 3436 Lehigh Road, at 7:30 a.m. Monday, he reported finding a loaded .380 Ruger during a subsequent search. The traffic stop happened on Greenwich Milan Townline Road near Union Road in Bronson Township.

Proctor was charged with DUI plus carrying a concealed weapon and marked lanes violation and transported to the Huron County Jail. The trooper reported Proctor was suspected of being under the influence of drugs.

The suspect submitted a urine sample, which will be tested at the patrol's crime lab.
