A local woman was one of 64 drunken-driving suspects who were arrested in February by the Elyria post of the state Highway Patrol.
The breath test of Patience M. Link, 35, of 104 N. Main St., New London, had a blood-alcohol content level of .242 percent, troopers said. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent.
Troopers investigated a crash at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 14. The accident happened on Ohio 113 about 1/2 mile west of Ohio 58 in Amherst Township.
Link was eastbound on Ohio 113, when she went off the right side and hit a mailbox, troopers said.
She was charged with driving under the influence, failure to control, driving with a suspended license and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
On Feb. 17, Link was released from jail. According to Oberlin Municipal Court records, she was found guilty of failure to control and an amended charge of driving under a child support-related suspension and fined a total of $230.
Link has four prior DUI convictions. Court records indicate those DUIs were in 2000 in Norwalk Municipal Court, 2009 in Oberlin and Elyria municipal courts and 2010 in Ashland Municipal Court.
Statewide, the patrol has made 4,005 DUI arrests through March 10.
