Three people have been charged and a Mansfield liquor permit has been cited after agents conducted a search warrant on March 7 for illegal gambling.
Mansfield residents James G. Boyd, 55, was charged with one count each of gambling and operating a gambling house; Jodie L. Conn, 40, was charged with two counts of gambling; and Kimberly Howard, 31, was charged with one count of gambling.
The liquor permit for the Cornerstone Bar and Grill, 586 Park Avenue East, was issued an administrative citation for each of the following: acquiring, possessing, controlling or operating a gambling device; recklessly permitting public gaming; operating a gambling house; game of chance for profit or scheme of chance; and electronic video gambling device.
During the search warrant, agents seized three electronic gambling devices and more than $5,400.
The three individuals will appear in Mansfield Municipal Court for arraignment. Once all criminal proceedings are completed, the administrative charges will be presented to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for their consideration. The commission can issue penalties that may include fines, suspensions or revocation of a liquor permit.
Mansfield Police Department assisted with the search warrant.
