Parking employees at the Ohio State University were robbed at gunpoint of cash collected during Sunday’s Buckeye basketball game at the Schottenstein Center.
University police declined to say how much was taken, saying they are still trying to ascertain the amount. But WBNS-TV (Channel 10) said that a source told them that about $6,000 was taken in the holdup.
Several employees of Campus Parc, which runs parking at Ohio State, were walking on a footbridge over Carmack Road at 4:40 p.m. when they were confronted by a man, 5 foot 11 inches and 160 pounds, with his face partially masked, holding a gun.
The employees handed over cash to the man, who ran in the direction of Kinnear Road. None of them was hurt.
The university issued a public-safety alert and also asked that anyone with information call them at 614-292-2121 or the Columbus police at 614-645-4545.
