A 7-year-old boy suffered a bump on his head Thursday after the outside mirror of a vehicle driven by an unknown motorist struck him on Milan Avenue.

Sgt. Kenneth Stiert said the boy's mother took him to the doctor. Other than the bump on his head, the boy was fine, Stiert said.

According to a Norwalk Police report, a 7-year-old boy was crossing the street on Milan Avenue in front of Norwalk Catholic School when the unknown driver of a vehicle passed through the crosswalk headed south. The child's head was struck by the outside mirror of the vehicle. The driver left the scene after he made contact with the pedestrian. No driver information was presented.

Stiert said information will be presented to the Norwalk Law Director's Office for the consideration of charges.
