Norwalk council passes job creation grant agreement with Dan-Mar Company

Norwalk city council adopted a resolution at Tuesday night’s meeting approving a job creation grant agreement with Dan-Mar Company, Inc.

Dan-Mar Company, which is located on Wikel Road in Milan Township, is currently in negotiations with Natel, EPIC Technologies’ parent company, to acquire the EPIC facility located at 200 E. Bluegrass Drive. EPIC had announced in January its plan to close in 2014, leaving 85 employees jobless.

If the deal goes through and Dan-Mar makes the move to Norwalk, it will promise to create at least 42 new jobs by Dec. 31, 2016 as part of the grant program.

A story with details about the grant and Dan-Mar's plans was published Wednesday in the Norwalk Reflector.
