A 16-year-old New Haven Township boy was arrested Thursday morning by Huron County sheriff's deputies in connection with alleged sex-related crimes committed against his stepbrother and stepsister.

"The stepsister is 9 years old," Chief Deputy Ted Patrick said. "The 16-year-old had reportedly been molesting her since she was 4 years old.

"The stepbrother is now 6 years old," Patrick added. "The 16-year-old had been molesting him since he was 3."

Patrick said the 16-year-old reportedly was grounded by his parents and as part of the punishment, they took his computer away.

"The parents were going through the computer and found nude pictures and videos of the 16-year-old with his stepbrother and stepsister," Patrick said.

"The parents then contacted us and we sent detectives to investigate," he added.

The boy subsequently was arrested and charged with delinquency.

"He was transported to the Seneca County detention center," Patrick said. "Other charges are pending upon review by the (county) prosecutor's office."

Detectives Rich Larson and Kayla Zander are investigating the case.
