Four injured following two-vehicle crash

Three people were taken to a hospital, including one flown by a medical helicopter, following a two-vehicle crash Friday on Ohio 18 at West Road.

At about 2:05 p.m., a 2002 Ford F150 was southbound on West Road, stopped for the stop sign at Ohio 18.

A 2012 Ford F150 was eastbound on Ohio 18. The 2002 Ford F150 failed to yield the right of way from a posted stop sign, entered into the intersection and was struck by the 2012 Ford F150. After being struck, the 2002 Ford F150 went off the east side of the road and overturned onto its side.

The driver of the 2002 Ford F150 was identified as Jonathan A. Pelton, 23, of Homerville. He was wearing his safety belt and was extricated from his vehicle by the Wellington Fire Department. He received incapacitating injuries and was flown to Cleveland Metro Hospital by Metro Life Flight.

The driver of the 2012 F150 was identified as Diane M. Landers, 42, of Wellington. The passenger in the 2012 F150 was identified as Jonathan C. Landers, 46, of Wellington. Both occupants of the 2012 Ford F150 were wearing their safety belts. Both received non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to Mercy Allen Hospital by Southern Lorain EMS.

Impaired driving isn't suspected. Pelton was charged with failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

Agencies on scene were the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Wellington Fire Department, Southern Lorain EMS, Metro Life Flight, D&A Towing and Vaughn's Towing.
