A suspected burglar failed to appear for his pre-trial hearing Monday in Huron County Common Pleas Court.

James M. Clarke, 24, most recently of 151B Benedict Ave., is charged with burglary in connection with a Sept. 15 incident. The fourth-degree felony is punishable by six to 18 months behind bars.

Judge Jim Conway issued a warrant for Clarke's arrest Monday at the request of Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff. The defendant is out on a personal recognizance bond, which means he signed a court document promising he would return to court on his own without having to pay any money.

Clarke's trial date of Dec. 12 could be rescheduled depending on when he is arrested.

Anyone with information about Clarke's whereabouts is encouraged to call police.
