Are you ready for some football?
If not, we'll get you ready with a tailgate party from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday in the Norwalk Reflector parking lot.
There will be hot dogs, chips and water.
For the first time ever, the Norwalk Truckers and St. Paul Flyers are in the playoffs together.
The Truckers, 9-1, will travel to Tiffin to play Columbian (9-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Columbian beat the Truckers 24-20 earlier in the season and went on to win the Northern Ohio League title.
St. Paul (9-1) will host Southington Chalker (5-5) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Whitney Field.
While making the playoffs is almost an annual event for the Flyers, this is the first time in 39 years the Truckers are in the postseason. The last -- and only -- time the Truckers were in the playoffs, they brought home the 1974 state championship trophy.
St. Paul has been to the state finals four times, winning it all in 2009.
Check out the inside of Thursday's Reflector for your Go Truckers and Go Flyers signs, and be sure to thank and support all of the advertisers.
We have invited students, coaches and the bands from both schools. But this is a community event, so everybody is encouraged to come, get a free lunch and support your favorite team.
