The state Highway Patrol has determined the blood-alcohol content of a suspected intoxicated driver was almost twice the legal limit during a Sept. 8 injury crash.
The BAC of Robert J. Strucker, 43, of 78 W. Chestnut St., Apt. S, was .159 percent, according to blood test results released Monday by the patrol. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent.
About 12:40 a.m. Sept. 8, Strucker was westbound on Townline Road 151 near U.S. 250. Troopers said he went off the left side of the road and hit a sign and tree.
North Central EMS transported Strucker to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with serious injuries. He was released later.
The patrol had the 2004 Pontiac Bonneville towed from the scene with disabling damage to the center front of the sedan.
Strucker was charged with failure to control, driving under the influence and a seatbelt violation. According to patrol records, he had prior DU convictions in 1989 and 1996.
